Spoonies Unite is founded by women living with chronic illness, for those who understand what it means to navigate life with limited energy and invisible pain. We’re a small, heart-centered team based in Southern California, dedicated to building a safe, supportive online community where spoonies can connect, share resources, and thrive — together
Spoonies Unite was born out of a shared truth: living with chronic illness can feel incredibly isolating. After years of navigating fibromyalgia, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and other invisible illnesses on our own, we realized that what we needed most wasn’t just better tools or treatments — we needed each other. We are currently a small circle of spoonies supporting one another through flare-ups, doctor visits, and daily frustrations. We hope to grow into a full community built on empathy, resilience, and real connection. We came together so no one else would have to face this journey alone.
At Spoonies Unite, we believe that community care is just as vital as self-care. Through moderated forums, virtual meetups, resource sharing, and peer-led support groups, we create a safe, judgment-free space for people with chronic illness to be seen, heard, and supported. We amplify marginalized voices, promote disability awareness, and offer tools for navigating the daily realities of life with pain — all while fostering connection and hope. Our mission is to uplift and empower the chronic illness community, one spoon at a time.
